A Movement Built Around the People
FIXFCT is a civic movement dedicated to restoring trust in governance and ensuring that every resident of the Federal Capital Territory has access to quality services, infrastructure, opportunities, and representation.
We believe leaders and public institutions must be responsible for their actions, promises, and the stewardship of public resources.
We encourage active involvement of residents in governance, community development, policy discussions, and public decision-making.
We advocate for open decision-making, public access to information, and transparent leadership that earns the trust of citizens.

The FixFCT Agenda
FixFCT is a Practical Blueprint for a Functional, Inclusive, and Thriving Capital. The FixFCT Agenda is a bold commitment to restore leadership, strengthen representation, and deploy innovative solutions to move the Federal Capital Territory forward. This manifesto is built on the simple truth that when we fix systems, include people, and expand opportunities—FCT will work for everyone.
THE F.I.X. F.CT. FRAMEWORK
Six Strategic Priorities for a Better Capital Territory
F
F– FIX INFRASTRUCTURE, FOOD SYSTEMS & FOUNDATIONAL SERVICES.
We will prioritize the rehabilitation and expansion of critical infrastructure across the FCT —roads, drainage systems, water supply, electricity access, housing, and public transportation.
Our focus is on delivering functional, durable, and inclusive systems that improve daily life and unlock economic growth.
We will drive affordable housing development through public-private partnerships and structured housing schemes, ensuring that low- and middle-income families can live with dignity.
In addition, we will strengthen food production and supply systems by supporting urban agriculture, farmer linkages, and agro-markets to reduce food costs and improve food security.
Special attention will be given to satellite towns and underserved communities, ensuring equitable access to infrastructure and services so that development is not concentrated only in the city center.
I
I– INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE, INSTITUTIONAL ACCOUNTABILITY & SOCIAL WELFARE.
We will build a governance system that is transparent, accountable, and inclusive. Citizens will have real access to decision-making through town halls, digital platforms, and structured feedback channels.
Governance will no longer be distant—it will be participatory. We will strengthen oversight to ensure that public funds are used effectively, while also prioritizing social welfare programs that support vulnerable populations like the elderly, women, persons with disabilities, and low-income households.
Education will be a key pillar of inclusion. We will support improvements in public schools, teacher quality, and access to learning resources, ensuring that every child in the FCT has the opportunity to succeed.
X
X – eXPAND OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH, JOBS & ECONOMIC GROWTH
We will unlock economic opportunities by supporting entrepreneurship, vocational training, and job creation initiatives across the FCT. Young people will be empowered with skills, funding access, and mentorship to thrive in today’s economy.
We will promote small and medium enterprises (SMEs), attract investments, and support innovation hubs that drive productivity and growth. Special focus will be placed on sectors such as technology, creative industries, agriculture, and services.
Through deliberate policies, we will create a business-friendly environment where opportunities are accessible, inclusive, and sustainable—ensuring prosperity for all.
F
F – FUNCTIONAL & FUTURE-READY CAPITAL.
Our goal is to ensure that the FCT works efficiently for residents, businesses, and visitors every day. We will fix broken systems and improve urban planning to eliminate congestion, inefficiency, and service gaps.
Clean communities promote health, dignity, and economic activity.
Security is a top priority.
We will strengthen community-based security systems, support law enforcement collaboration, and deploy preventive strategies to ensure safety across all districts and satellite towns.
We will also promote improved transport connectivity, ensuring that all parts of the FCT are accessible, integrated, and economically active.
C
C – CLEAN, CONNECTED & SECURE COMMUNITIES.

The Challenges Facing FCT Residents
Building a better Federal Capital Territory begins with understanding the realities facing its residents. Despite Abuja's status as Nigeria's capital, many communities continue to struggle with inadequate infrastructure, limited access to essential services, insecurity, unemployment, and environmental challenges. FIXFCT is committed to addressing these issues through practical solutions, responsible leadership, and active citizen participation.
🛣 Infrastructure Deficiencies
Many communities across the FCT continue to experience deteriorating roads, inadequate drainage systems, and poorly maintained public infrastructure, limiting mobility, reducing safety, and slowing economic growth.
💧 Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene
Access to safe drinking water, proper sanitation facilities, and efficient waste management remains inadequate for many residents, creating significant public health and environmental concerns.
🏥 Inadequate Healthcare Services
Many communities still face barriers to quality healthcare due to insufficient medical facilities, limited equipment, and a shortage of qualified healthcare professionals.
📚 Challenges in Education
Schools across the FCT require better infrastructure, improved learning resources, enhanced teacher support, and greater access to quality education for children and young people.
👮 Public Safety and Security
Security remains a pressing concern in several communities, with residents calling for stronger crime prevention measures, improved emergency response, and more effective community-based policing.
💼 Unemployment and Economic Challenges
Many young people, entrepreneurs, and small business owners continue to face unemployment, limited economic opportunities, inadequate vocational training, and restricted access to finance.
🏘 Housing and Urban Growth
Rapid urban expansion has placed increasing pressure on housing, transportation networks, and city planning, resulting in overcrowding and the growth of informal settlements in some areas.
🌱 Environmental Sustainability and Climate Resilience
Poor waste management, environmental degradation, flooding, and the growing effects of climate change continue to threaten communities, public health, and the sustainability of the FCT.

Our Commitment
At FIXFCT, we believe that every challenge presents an opportunity for meaningful change. By promoting transparent governance, encouraging active citizen participation, embracing strategic planning, and advancing sustainable development, we are committed to building a Federal Capital Territory that is safe, prosperous, inclusive, and resilient.
Together with residents, community leaders, stakeholders, and partners, we can create stronger communities, expand opportunities, improve public services, and restore confidence in governance for the benefit of every FCT resident.
Driving Change Through Action
FIX FCT is committed to turning ideas into measurable results through impactful initiatives that address the needs of FCT residents.
